Founded on July 1, 1959, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine has grown into a Grade III Class A TCM hospital characteristic of TCM offering medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, preventive health care and rehabilitation services in the Autonomous Region over six decades of development.

TCM is effective in the treatment of cardiovascular system diseases, respiratory system diseases, nervous system diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, endocrine system diseases, digestive system diseases, common senile diseases, chronic kidney failure, cervical spondylosis, psoriasis, fundus diseases, gynecological diseases, rheumatism and other diseases. In accordance with the academic thoughts of the famous TCM physicians of the Hospital, the Department of Cardiology has put forward the characteristics of the syndrome of Xinjiang's turpitous phlegm obstruction, established a new theory of "tonic prescription and drainage" method for the treatment of coronary heart disease, and developed a new medicine combining ethnic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine, Tianxiangdan capsule, and treated angina pectoris of coronary heart disease with Xintongning Jiawei prescription and characteristic preparation Maitong tablets.
